Our Main Courses

The following are listed main courses with the perfect wine blends.

BEEF

Everyday Meal:
Zinfandel, Beaujolais or Cotes du Rhone with hamburgers and picnic fare.

Special Occasion:
Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir or Syrah with roast beef or steaks. Medoc (Bordeaux) with tenderloin.

CHEESES

Everyday Meal:
Merlot or Cabernet marry well with Cheddar and mild yellow cheeses.

Special Occasion: Chardonnay's rich flavor goes with ripe Brie and cream cheeses. Try Rose with quiche.

CHICKEN

Everyday Meal:
Anything sparkling makes a delicious partner with fried chicken.

Special Occasion:
Merlot, Chianti or Chardonnay with roasted or baked chicken, white Burgundy with chicken in cream sauce.

DUCK

Everyday Meal:
Pinot Noir, Rhone and Italian reds are natural partners with roast duck.

ASIAN

Everyday Meal:
See "Hot Stuff" for cautions, but don't overlook Riesling with spicy, multi aromatic Asian fare.

Special Occasion:
Sparkling wines - not your finest Champagne but tasty bubblies from around the world.

ASPARAGUS

Everyday Meal:
New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc's "veggie" aromas are perfect with asparagus.

Special Occasion:
Soave, Gruner Veltliner or Pinot Grigio for asparagus with butter, cheese or Milanese preparations.

BARBEQUE

Everyday Meal:
Zinfandel, the American wine, is fun with this American classic fare, As is a fuller bodied Red Blend

Everyday Meal:
For liver and country pates, pick Rhone or Provence reds or Pinot Noir.

Quality Burgundies, red or white, with foie gras. Or go decadent with sweet Sauternes.

HOT STUFF

BEER! The hottest foods don't fare well with wine, which may exaggerate the peppery "burn."
